Within the week 4 Learning Material for EDC3100, we have been required to turn our focus onto Assignment 2 and look at specific Curriculum Content Descriptors which Construct and Transform student knowledge for the development of a unit plan.
The student learning of Constructing and Transforming Knowledge fits in with the research surrounding that we have two types of knowledge:
Declarative Knowledge (Constructing) – Knowledge and Understanding
Procedural Knowledge (Transforming) – Ways of Working
This link provides a very clear description of the two, as well as how they apply in classroom practices.
